And From the Sand
I came upon art
reaching out
from the beach,
born of a creator
who just showed up one day
with buckets, shovels
and a calling
to shape
from sand
a monument to faith.
Something is moving
in our world
right now,
something is
forming, a shoreline
of light…
can you feel it?
Among umbrellas and crying gulls,
a temporary Calvary emerged,
summoned
to this most unlikely place
by sweat
and open,
dedicated hands,
offering itself to passersby
like me
a glimpse of love
dreamed, dug, and pressed into
waves of compassion,
sweeping up out of the ocean
to enfold
suffering grace outstretched.
A moment. A breath.
Another.
Forces are gathering,
goodness is growing:
equal, opposite,
nature’s symmetry
reacting in kind
to meet iniquity, face to face.
A single grain of sand
is not nothing; a filled sandbag
retains a river, stops a bullet.
I will allow myself
to be gathered with you
to singular purpose—
impermanence is no excuse—
and from the sand,
the sacred, indomitable art of us will rise,
together
eyes wet and shining,
giving thanks
for one another, and the hands
of a sculptor
“giving thanks
for one another, and the hands
of a sculptor” Giving thanks for you and your faith-filled artist’s sensibilities that you share to help us remember that goodness and inspiration are found everywhere!
Very beautiful.
"Forces are gathering,
goodness is growing:
equal, opposite,
nature’s symmetry
reacting in kind
to meet iniquity, face to face."
Yes.
I thought of a quote CAF used on her recent interview with Greg Hunter. (paraphrasing) A single snowflake is not powerful, but enough of them can shut down NYC.
It's growing. Light and life will make a grand comeback. Thank you. 🙏
