Chainsaw Gratitude
Take your seat
amongst wood-chippers
and buzz saws
They’ve identified what needs to go.
In a flurry
of grinding metal and blue fumes
breathe it in
Skilled cutters are at work.
Let them.
Don’t wish for silence
Don’t send them away
Revel in the roar of chaos and mulch
And smile at the destruction…
You asked for new growth.
