What a beautiful musing on creativity! It’s like a romantic love affair with a beautiful idea that wants to see the world!

Thank you! I had many second thoughts about it... Which is why I ultimately decided to publish it. Her. You understand 😂

Oh, I so relate. But the 40 years of journals! That's another story. Literally.

That's for damn sure. Not sure yet what it is yet though 🤔

Mary, our connection strikes again. :) I opened your email this morning, saw the notebooks, and thought, "Uh oh!" I was in the middle of writing a post about my own notebooks, so I didn't read your post until after I published mine. Lol.

I love Michael's description of your poem so much! Thanks for giving it the attention it deserved. XOXO

I loved this, Mary, especially when I listened to you recite it. Then it really touched me.

Your voice is so expressive, and delivers such emotion and meaning. I could listen to you read Leviticus and not want it to end, almost. LOL Thank you.

Thank you for a HILARIOUS compliment, Ronnie. I didn't see that coming... 🙃

I'd like to provide more voiced content -- you've given me the nudge! Xox

Big fan of anthropomorphic moves in poetry, but applied to a poem, takes it to a whole new level. Oh, how I love this! She was crying to be heard, to reach out and touch someone. I’ve missed your poetry, dear friend.

And I've missed YOU. Thanks for this, Tonika. It's good to be back.

Oh, Mary. What a gem, a shining beauty.

I have piles of journals too - have thought many times of going through them and pulling out the poems! It won't happen and that's okay. But oh that voice, so glad you listened and shared this one. 💖

You inspired me, Kathleen, with your "I Like Crooked Things"poem. It was so sweet and pure and earnest, and I was so happy to witness your willingness to share it with all of us. I had just written this little slip of a poem in my journal and was debating whether to publish it... when I read yours and thought, I must. So thank you for sparking me, you sparkler. xox

So kind to say, Mary! (And in that case I'm really glad I did that. :-) )

It's so true - the ripple effect - when we create and share. We have no idea how it will be received or what it might mean to someone. So glad you listened to that voice and freed her. xox
