Hi Mary.

Good to see you back behind the wheel ... spinning, measuring, and trimming where needed.

Enjoyed it. Yay, Eurydice!

And glad to hear 'Ruth' is just catching her second wind.

Third wind ... Yay, Orpheus. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M4JwiJKLq18

G'night from Japan,

steve

Mary, you are an authentically wonderful talent! The cast of characters and their descriptions is awesome! I could make special mention of 'a pasty, overweight programmer with a club foot. Used to be a god' - but in truth every word of it is equally good! I was smiling and chuckling all the way through the dialogue. Love the characterisation of Media / Medea. But when we get to the arrival on stage of Eurydice, it is beautiful and hilarous in equal measure! Inspiring and uplifting and wonderfully crafted. What a terrible tradgedy that the theatres don't want to be even a teeny tiny bit controversial. I wonder who stole theyre fyre...

None of that of course will stop you from burning bright. God bless your for the humour and constancy and articulation with which you point out the unsayable - that we are already immortal!

'scuse me if I gush - can't praise this one enough!

Oh Michael, I'm seriously blushing here. Thank you for attending to it so carefully and seeing so much goodness in it.

It's a lot to ask people to read a play these days, even a short one, but one with VERSE? I published it anyway, figuring that it would get precious few eyeballs -- which is exactly what happened, but oh how precious those eyeballs turned out to be!!

To be fair, I don't know if the "controversial" nature of this play is what dinged it. You rarely know why a theatre passes on a project; speculation is generally futile, though that doesn't stop me...😉

Big gratitude for your comment. It gave me such a boost, you have no idea. xox

So glad it gave a boost - in fact, not for the first time with your posts, I look at what I have writtern and wonder if it seems 'over the top', but always it is exactly what I feel and think, so it stands!

As for reading plays, yeah, not usually the most compelling activity, but with yours it is easy, and fun!

Love this message - of course!

It's clever and fun and succinctly done. (I'll be part of the chorus.)

I'd love to see it on stage - and perhaps a wiser theatre will realize that.

"It's MEE-dee-ah, not Muh-DAY-uh!" :-)

Happy to hear on your sis and progress. She's fortunate to have you. (And I'm sure vice-versa.)

Thanks for the share and your lovely creative spirit, friend. XOX

I'll take you up on your offer to be part of the chorus. If there's anyone who embodies SOUL, it's YOU.

I'd love to see it on stage, too. I keep telling myself it's time to stage some of my stuff myself, then I get cold feet. Or I take up some other worthy project and pretend it's not cold feet. 🙄

Thank you for this comment, Kathleen. Means the world to me, actually. xoxox

Brilliant message! This would make a great short film using local talent and uploaded to Youtube, Rumble, etc. to be shared throughout social media - we are already immortal!

Thank you, Mel! I appreciate the comment, and I love the idea of using local talent... I just need to rustle up some. They've got to be here somewhere!

Oh Mary, this was just great! I loved it! You are quite a talent. I loved the Chorus, probably because it was poetry and it rhymed. LOL I'm just kind of simple that way. But I definitely got the message. Yes, we are already everything we need to be, if only we hadn't lost our gift of memory!

And you don't need no stinkin' Red Bull Theatre in NYC. They missed their chance. Losers!

Thank you, Mary. This was such fun. So glad to hear that Ruth is making great progress.

happy hearin' yer dear friend Ruth is doin' so well in yer "care!" As fer yer writin', that's a message important--seems you 'r also channelin' the "fools fyre" of (Poe's) Hop Frog who "aped" those that doubted the humanity of the "little people" (so it'll go with them self-important trans-humanist dystopians...'lease I hope so!) keep on writin' 'em Mary, the double-edged sword of the "fyre brand" may stir up stuff on one side, but that mebbe what it takes ta destroy the cyber prisons attemptin' ta lock up our spirits (flammable 'er not!) on 't'other! ;-)

There are so many gold nuggets in this comment, Daisy! I just read the summary of Hop Frog -- a story I'd never heard of before -- and wow. You're right, there's some kind of channeling going on.

Yes, I WILL keep writing. It's the only way I know how to create new realities. "Fyre-brand." I love it!! Thanks for sharing your thoughts and wide artistic knowledge. What a resource you are. Big hugs... xoxox

golden nuggets ta match her own lol! (ya know there's a casino by that name in Las Vegas or used ta be!) anywayz...thx thx an' XO's back... we both got our hands full in our "healing" adventures! ;-)

ps it's a great Poe story but of course much as we revile those who literally be-little us we wouldn't wanna "act" QUITE like the jester in the tale!
