Dear Readers,
As a theatre artist who has witnessed (and experienced) the slow, sad, shutting-down of the theatre to the full spectrum of ideas and ideology, I feel compelled to share this excellent article on the state of the publishing world, another arena that’s been sliding into self-censorship.
I hope you’ll be heartened, however, to read about the new publishing houses rising up in response. I was.

This was very interesting and encouraging, Mary. Thanks for sharing it. Since having all the "woke" ideology forced down our throats in so many venues, I became totally disgusted, especially if celebrities or the MSM, like PBS, were praising some book, or movie, or play as some kind of cultural phenomenon then I immediately had no interest in what they were talking about. My motto became a quote by Walter Lippman, "Where all think alike, no one thinks very much." I'm sure that wasn't very fair of me, but what "they" were doing to us wasn't fair either! But I look forward to the future, and in the meantime I'm perfectly happy with reading all the great stuff you and the other substack writers put out on a regular basis. Hey! speaking about a cultural phenomenon didn't you say you were going to write a screenplay about something? lol xox
Dear Mary, I cannot tell you how much I appreciate this post. What excellent good news this is.
