You are so very welcome, dear Mary! Well, what can I say? How did it go? Not as I had planned, even though so many things setting the stage for it were all in place. Friends had spread the word to others who also spread the word; the Church where the labyrinth was located went out of their way to send someone to open it for us so we would have use of the restroom; it was a beautiful day with a gorgeous blue NM sky. But only 4 adults showed up, plus 2, 5 yr. olds. who along with their mothers arrived late, so we had a kind of disjointed start. I had to forego most of my program that I had created, and just go with the flow. That's a good thing, I know, but it was hard to maintain that mindfulness needed. And one of the young mothers was a very assertive 42 yr. old woman who pretty much had her own agenda. I'll leave it at that, but I wasn't prepared for it. I can see there's going to be a learning curve for me, even at this late stage of life. That's OK, I'll deal with it. But everyone, the young mothers, and the other old Irish lady, and me, of course, loved your poem that you posted here. So we found common ground there at least. LOL. I had printed out copies of it to pass out. That was probably all I really needed was that poem. Just too beautiful.

How did your labyrinth walk go? Were you able to locate a nice one? Did you have companionship? Peter, maybe? Let me know. I hope it was meaningful for you. Thanks for going along with this idea. I knew I could count on you. xoxox

That's so heartwarming, that you printed out my poem...

My experience, like yours, was not what I planned! I'm already writing about it for next Sunday, so I won't say too much about it here. (It was actually kind of hilarious.) Would you be okay with my quoting some of your comment here in it?

Quote away! like you told me to "post away" on your site about the Labyrinth Day. I can't imagine what I could have said worth quoting, but you will no doubt surprise me. So your labyrinth day experience was "Hilarious"? Now you've really got me curious. I hate when you do this, make us wait another week to get "the rest of the story." So until then....xox

Rocket, I'm so sorry for your loss of the hopes you had for this special day!

I too, as many others have, experienced much disappointment in human life.

Perhaps, we as a people can bring to this plane a depth of love and light - The likes of which, will bring overwhelming amounts of beauty to the universe, to extinguish the dark and to continue in destiny, a love for all.

Blessing ~

Hello, Depswah! Thank you so much for your lovely words offering some comfort and encouragement for my disappointing experience last year. However, I am not giving up, and fully intend to try again this year. World Labyrinth Day 2024 is scheduled for Saturday, May 4th.

Maybe you will consider joining in. You can check out the information here: https://www.worldlabyrinthday.org/wld-2024/world-labyrinth-day

It's not too early to start planning now.

I try to walk a labyrinth on a regular basis, at least once a month. It feeds my soul and spirit. In between times finger labyrinths are a nice substitute.

If you haven't read it already, I recommend reading Mary Poindexter McLaughlin's report on how her labyrinth walk played out last year. https://marypoindextermclaughlin.substack.com/p/lessons-from-the-labyrinth

It was hilarious. She had us alI rolling on the floor, and it really lifted my spirits and inspired me to want to try again.

Yes, I would like nothing more than to help bring love and light in some small way to this plane as you suggest. Blessings on you and on your endeavors to do the same.

Sincerely,

Rocket

Creator bless you, Rocket and all others who wish to be in keeping with the theme of "Love". Especially in these most recent years!

Rocket, I understand you are in NM. Do you mind sharing, which labyrinth you spoke of in your writing? I'd love to connect with you on a personal level. If not, I completely understand. Privacy n all, not sure how to accomplish all of this. Perhaps I could create an email, just for you - directing you to the true source - Any ideas?

I created a labyrinth in 2010 (ode to late hubby), daily X's more, if necessary. This prayer/meditation alone time, delights n calms my restless natives - I also spend time in my med-wheel, each morning, as a reflection of the past and a mirror into the present...

Not to mention; I should enjoy the company of a like-minded person, in which we may share ideas for hosting the best ever WWL-event ever!

P.S.

Periodically, I do host other love filled, spiritual events. Need not be present, just in tune.

I really like labyrinths too. The word itself is cool looking. And that movie starring Bowie and his package!

🎶 You remind me of a babe!

I had to look up the movie AND the song reference. Good god, what a hot mess! Not sad I missed that one in the movie theaters back in the day...
